Krause and Elsa (Carmen-Maja Antoni) are shocked: Their sister Meta (Angelika Böttiger) wants to marry. Being almost 60, she has chosen the taxi driver Rudi Weisglut (Tilo Prückner) from Cologne, having met him two years earlier when Krause went for his cure at the Baltic Sea. Ever since, cheerful Rudi returs to the Brandenburg idyll every month, causing a ruckus during his visits. But it is not the wedding plans that snub the siblings, it is rather the fact that Meta and Rudi present a fait accompli. There has never been any secretiveness in the Krause family before! It gets even worse: Meta wants to leave town and move to Cologne with Rudi. So the future of the siblings’ pub is at stake. Krause and Elsa feel let down by their selfish sister. While Elsa digests the shock with hard liquor, Horst digs his heels in. Being stubborn, he cannot imagine what the future will bring without his sister. The Krauses are short of domestic bliss, and the bride gets bored with the idea of her own wedding, while it should be the best day of her life. All attempts of mediation are futile. Or so it seems at first …
